Clothing is meant to make women feel powerful and secure, this is why championing women should be the next frontier of the fashion industry.

Maria Carolina Melo is leading the conversation on Fashion, Feminism and Female Empowerment in Miami. As a lawyer, fashion entrepreneur, philanthropist, wife and mother she finds inspiration in women, who manage to do it all by balancing their family and work lives. A native of Brazil, she graduated from University of Miami School of Law and later went to work in fashion.

“Fashion is very personal expression avenue for women.  However, there are aspects of the industry today that intimidate and damage women’s image of themselves. The entire industry needs to change this by allowing fashion to be one more instrument for women to express their creativity, feel comfortable and beautiful.”
