MIAMI LEADER:
Anna-Bo Emmanuel is a Miami-based attorney and a Miami leader passionate about empowering women and girls. Anna-Bo believes that a diverse city like Miami will benefit from a better female representation within the city’s leadership cohort.

WHY MIAMI?
I love Miami. It is the city of the future. There are so many stories of resilience that creates the fabric of life here that it makes Miami an incredible place for creativity and innovation.

WHAT IS THE MOST PRESSING ISSUE TO SOLVE ON YOUR LIST? WHY?
While there are many pressing issues facing our community, I am most passionate about the empowerment of girls and women in this county. Miami needs increased female representation within the leadership of both the private and public sectors, so we have to pay attention to how we nurture and develop female talent and that needs to start at an early age. In addition, we need to keep fighting against conditions that expose women and girls to being at a higher risk of victimization, especially in the areas of domestic violence and human trafficking.

HOW CAN WE SOLVE IT?
We have many phenomenal women in this city who are doing great work. I am committed to creating spaces where we can come together and learn about each other, with the hope that this increases the support and “buy-in” for each other and our work.
