I was always adventurous and hungry for new challenges in my life. When I got a job offer from a builder/developer in Miami 15 years ago, I didn’t have to think twice to pack my suitcases and move to South Florida. The plan was to stay only for two years and then move back to my hometown Frankfurt, Germany. At that time, Miami wasn’t as sophisticated and culturally developed. Coming from Germany and having lived in major cities, such as Frankfurt, London, Sydney, Munich – Miami didn’t seam to me as exciting. But Miami captured my attention on a different level. Being an interior designer, I was very inspired by the colors, the light, the all-year-long indoor-outdoor lifestyle, and the dynamic of the city.
In 2007, I founded my company, Pfuner Design, a high-end luxury Interior Design studio; I couldn’t have asked for a better place to live and work. I enjoy the freedom to express my creativity on many different levels. Miami gives me the opportunity to work with national and international clients from all over the world.
Because of Miami’s fast growth and ever-changing vibe, the challenge many people face when living here is staying focused and true to their inner selves. Miami helped me to develop a clear vision of what I want to achieve in my personal and professional development.
My company’s focus has always been on enriching people’s lives with beautiful environments. Now we want to go a step further and add a holistic approach to our design work with elements from Feng Shui, nature, and color theory. Few people realize that the majority of Miami residents spend up to 85% of their time indoors. My goal is to educate people on the importance of making their work and living environments healthy.
Balance and harmony in all the different aspects of life. I tend to be a workaholic and need to start allocating more time for myself and the community.
