MIAMI LEADER
Ana Bozovic is a Miami girl of Serbian decent. She was raised in NYC and lived in Zurich, Panama City, Kiev, Belgrade, and Vancouver before moving to Miami. Captivated by the rapid growth of Miami, Ana wanted to be a part of the city’s development into a true global center. Transitioning from her background in tech, she is now involved as a realtor in numerous real estate development projects. Through business endeavors, the Miami Girls Foundation and Special Olympics, Ana is hoping to inspire and empower young generations.
WHY MIAMI?
In all honesty, I initially approached Miami as a trial run. I was unsure if I would like it. As it turns out, I was very pleasantly surprised. My two favorite aspects of Miami are how international it is and how quickly it has grown and is still growing. So much great energy is here as a result of both those aspects. I see many opportunities here and I believe Miami will continue its trajectory of growth and will further establish itself as a true global city.
WHAT IS THE MOST PRESSING ISSUE ON YOUR LIST? WHY?
I can name numerous issues Miami is dealing with today due to its rapid growth. My personal pet peeve is public transit, or the lack of thereof. Some progress in that regard would go a long way towards improving quality of life here. When it comes to personal involvement and hands-on experiences, I’m very passionate about educating and empowering kids. I cannot stand seeing young generations being molded into the lesser citizens based on the income of their parents, the way they dress or solely on their physical abilities.
HOW CAN WE SOLVE IT?
Two things we can all do: be inclusive and set positive standards for others to follow. Through my work with Miami Girls Foundations I want to inspire our community to praise the city’s role models, for we have many inspirational Miami women setting very high standards in various fields of work. It is very important to instill pride in young kids through the feeling of belonging to a great community. I believe that proud members are those, who contribute the most.
As a lifelong athlete, I know the many benefits that sports bring to children. This is why I’m also a huge supporter of Special Olympics Florida, where I am a member of the Executive Development Committee and numerous events committee throughout the year. The program of Special Olympics is a beautiful example of how being inclusive can give benefits to the members of our society, who would otherwise not have access. Besides all that, I strive to set a positive personal example on the daily basis.
