MIAMI LEADER:
Gabriela Guzman is a native Miami girl of Dominican decent. She is a Miami leader passionate about connecting and engaging Miami’s female entrepreneurs. Gabriela believes that mutual support and a strong network of talented people is the key to solving most of the issues Miami is facing today.

WHY MIAMI?
Miami is alive in this way that feels new, exciting and full of possibility. It’s palpable. It makes you feel like you’re part of creating something amazing just by being active around your passions. Everyday I see women, who choose to follow those passions and create a sustainable and growing business for themselves and their families. There is a thriving entrepreneurial spirit in Miami that is so brave. I find it inspiring and admirable.

WHAT IS THE MOST PRESSING ISSUE TO SOLVE ON YOUR LIST? WHY?
For the women I work with I find the most pressing issue is that they feel alone, they’re not sure where to start or how grow their business. They need resources, support and a community in order to thrive. As women, we relate to one another and function differently. The relationships we nurture, our approach to solve problems, and our perspective is unique. I love that I get to be part of creating an experience that helps women entrepreneurs come together to find support, learn, apply and celebrate one another in a collaborative creative community.

HOW CAN WE SOLVE IT?
Understanding and truly listening to what entrepreneurs need as they launch and grow their businesses is key. Sometimes it’s as simple as a few words of advice or a space they can co-work sometimes alongside other entrepreneurs. There must also be a structure and programs in place that are accessible and provide meaningful transformations and learning. Through coaching and workshops I help entrepreneurs define their brands authentically and empower them with a plan to leverage social media for their business. I’m also part of a creative collective, The Creative Girls, where we host events, workshops and support other entrepreneurs who share our values of creativity, community and collaboration.
