MIAMI LEADER:
Nathalie Martinez-Smith is a native Miami girl. She has over a decade of experience directing programs focused on public health and environmental sustainability in nonprofit and government settings, including the City of Miami and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME). As a Miami leader she is determined to make Miami a model for sustainability.

WHY MIAMI?
Miami is a young City that is rapidly changing and growing, and we have an opportunity to make a lasting impact on what it becomes.

WHAT IS THE MOST PRESSING ISSUE TO SOLVE ON YOUR LIST? WHY?
To Make Miami a model for sustainability. We are at ground zero for sea level rise as a result of climate change. If we do not take action now to fix for this issue, we will lose the City to the ocean.

HOW CAN WE SOLVE IT?
Through the @MiaSciBarge, an off-grid environmental innovation lab, we’ll provide people with an immersive experience to encourage the development of sustainable technologies that would allow us to adapt to the challenges of climate change. Our goal is to empower individuals to make a difference.
