#MIAMIFOUNDER campaign challenges the pervasive ideal entrepreneur stereotype as male and addresses the assumption that women founders are more risky investments.
For our annual Women’s History Month campaign we will be celebrating Miami’s top 30 Female Founders for their significant innovative contributions. With the generous support from the Knight Foundation and with the help from the (WIN) Lab Miami Venture Accelerator we want to tell the story of Miami as a place where women lead, innovate and engage in meaningful entrepreneurship. Our goal is to inspire everyone to join the financial inclusion movement through personal commitments, pledges and engagement.
To support the campaign and contribute to the conversation, all you need to do is:
- Take a photo of yourself or a female Miami founder you admire.
- Answer one of the following questions: What does it take to be an entrepreneur? What are the main challenges women entrepreneurs have to overcome? What should women know before starting a business?
- Post to your social media channels with the hashtag #MiamiFounder and tag @miamigirlsorg @winlab
- Email your picture & response to pr@miamigirls.org and we’ll share on our platform
