Connect Miami is a community-led initiative focused on building empathy, kindness, and connection across lines of difference. During “10 days of connection challenge“Miami Girls Foundation, Creative G.L.U.E., and Miami made. aligned their missions in a partnership designed to connect female leaders across lines of difference with the goal to build a stronger Miami through empowering women.
Hosted by Brittany Jarrin and Jossua Parini of Creative G.L.U.E. on May 25, 2017 at Macaya Gallery the event brought together top female leaders to celebrate collective contributions Miami women make into shaping the future of our city across diverse social, professional and cultural communities.
Generous support from Barry Stamos and Brandon Evans of Miami made. provided an opportunity to present the portraits from Inside Out Project: Miami Girls for an intimate viewing before the posters will become part of the permanent collection of HistoryMiami Museum.
Ruth Shack, who spent her life fighting for the arts, historic preservation, and civil rights in Miami is an inspiration to many Miami leaders working on creating a better future for the city. Every year Miami Foundation recognizes outstanding leadership by a nonprofit professional age 40 or younger with Ruth Shack Leadership Award. This year the award was given to Rebecca Fishman-Lipsey, Founder of Radical Partners and co-host of Connect Miami initiative.
